About Muhyideen College of Education, Ilorin, Kwara State
The school was established in 2005 by the Muhyideen Association of Nigeria with the sole objective of developing and raising teachers. Although people of Islamic faith established it, the school still has quite some Christian students.
The administrative and governing council of the school comprises of a team of 11 members who ensure the smooth running of the school. The Provost heads the team of administrators, and he ensures strict adherence and compliance to laws and policies enacted by the administrative council. Other members of the board include the assistant or deputy provost, deans of schools, heads of departments, directors of units and principal lecturers.
The school obtained an operating license from the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) in 2007. The motto of the college “Knowledge is everybody’s right.”
The school occupies a large area of land in Kulende, Kwara state. Infrastructural facilities include an auditorium, furnished lecture rooms and classrooms, sporting facilities, well-equipped college clinic, and IT facility. The school has a staff strength of over 100 academic staff members and a student population of over a thousand students. The management of the college ensures the students engage in extra-curricular activities such as student unionism, debates, and cultural events.
Muhyideen College of Education, Ilorin has some of the best facilities that an institution of such standard should have. The school has five (5) schools prospective students can enroll in, and they are as follows:
