About Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ilara-Mokin
Joseph Ayo Babalola University is another faith-based tertiary institution. The university is owned and managed by the Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide (CAC). The operating license for the school was approved on 6th of March 2006 by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the university began full academic activities on 25th of October 2006. The motto of the school is “For Knowledge and Godly service”.
This university is named after Joseph Ayo Babalola, the first ever spiritual leader of the Christ Apostolic Church. Pastor A.O Akinosun, the current president of the church is the chairman of the board of trustees. Other principal officers of the institution are Professor AMA Imevbore (Pro-Chancellor), Professor Shola Fajana (Vice chancellor), and Oluwawemimo Odunaiya, FCA (Chancellor). The school boasts a student population of over 4000 students and there are seven (7) colleges in the school namely,
- College of Agricultural sciences
- College of Environmental sciences
- College of humanities
- College of law
- College of management sciences
- College of natural sciences
- College of social sciences
The school also offers postgraduate certification in Food Science and Technology, Agriculture, Biological sciences, Chemical sciences, Accounting, and Environmental sciences.
In its over ten (10) years of existence, Joseph Ayo Babalola University has produced thousands of graduates. The management of the university has implemented a strict dress code policy and any student that fails to adhere to this risks expulsion from the school. Female students must wear skirts that extend beyond the knee. Also, blouse wear must cover the breast region. No makeup is allowed, no long hair is permitted.
The guys are expected to wear professional attire. Also, they aren’t permitted to wear jewelry around the campus premises.
