About Federal College of Education, Pankshin
Federal College of Education, Pankshin in Plateau state is a longstanding institution established in 1974 to promote vocational studies. The school motto is ‘Excellence in Service’ which it lives by and has helped the institution stay afloat and also achieved tremendous success for several years now.
The Federal College of Education, Pankshin is located at 125km North-East of Jos the state’s capital. This academic institution which started as the Federal Advanced Teacher’s College (FATC) at its temporary site located in Mararaba Pushit which is about 17KM away from the town of Pankshin. Three after its establishment, a permanent site for the institution was proposed, and the college officially moved there. The permanent site is just 3 KM away from Pankshin town.
Federal College of Education, Pankshin started off small with just about 100 students being the first set of students of this institution. The college has not been very popular for several decades since its establishment until recently under the leadership of the institution’s provost, Professor David Longwap Wonang who has brought the once relatively unknown but significant college which has been training world-class teachers to the limelight.
