About Federal College of Education, Katsina
Federal College of Education Kastina FC-KAT was founded in 1976, by the Federal Government of Nigeria along with other Federal Colleges of Education (then known as Federal Advanced Teacher’s College). The federal colleges of Education aim to produce competent non-graduate teachers who were initially designed to teach students in Junior Secondary Schools in Nigeria.
Located along Dustin–Ama road, Katsina state: with a little over 2000 students. The college is made up of five (5) schools namely:
- ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES
- AND TECH. EDUCATION
- LANGUAGES and
The school also offers several degree programmes in affiliation with Bayero University, Kano ranging from Sciences, Social Sciences, Management, Arts, and Education. The NCCE approved minimum accepted admission requirements in addition to the Departmental requirements is all that is needed to gain admission into Federal College of Education Katsina.
Just recently the National university commission(NUC) approved the full accreditation of Federal College of Education,(FCE) Katsina undergraduate courses affiliated to Bayero University Kano (BUK) making FC-KAT the only school affiliated to BUK that have successfully achieved full accreditation in all the courses registered.
The current Provost of the institution is Dr. Aliyu Idris Funtua, who was appointed on the 19th of August 2016 and is expected to serve a four years tenure subject to renewal.
s at the time of writing this post, the tuition/school fees of College of Education, Katsina-Ala (COEKATSINAALA) is between the range of N40,000 to N60,000 for returning students while the one for freshers is between the range of N70,000 to N90,000.
