About Delta State University
Delta State University is an institution owned by the Delta State government. The school was founded in 1992 and throughout it over 25 years of existence; the school has produced thousands of graduates who have turned out to be professionals in their various fields.
DELSU has its main campus in Abraka and two (2) other campuses in Oleh and Anwai. The school has a student population of over 40,000 with the vast majority of students being undergraduate students. Delta State University has evolved over the years.
The school started as a Government Teacher’s training college during the colonial era before evolving into a fully fledged College of Education with affiliations to the University of Benin.
Delta State University offers pre-degree, undergraduate and post-graduate certification for students. The Vice-Chancellor of the school is Professor Victor Peretomode, and he has been a wonderful influence on the school.
Since DELSU runs a multi-campus system, the faculties of the school are spread across the various campuses. The Abraka Campus houses the Faculty of Education, Faculty of Arts, and Faculty of sciences, Faculty of Social sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy and the College of Basic Medical sciences.
The campus in Anwai-Asaba is home to the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Management Sciences, and Faculty of Environmental Studies. The Faculty of Law and Faculty of Engineering can be found in DELSU campus, Oleh.
The various campuses of the school are on a large expanse of lands, and this is logical because it is a state-owned school. The mission of Delta State University is the promotion of quality education, character and cultural transformation. Students of DELSU come from various parts of the country. However, there are a couple of students from neighboring African countries in the University as well.
Please note that the tuition / school fees for freshers is inclusive of acceptance fees and other miscellaneous expenses. Subsequently, the freshers will start paying the fee for returning students when they get to 200 level (for UTME Candidates) and 300 level (for Direct Entry Candidates).
