About CETEP City University:
CETEP City University is one of the lesser known universities in the country. Although it was established in 2005 (which makes it one of the earliest private universities in Nigeria), the school is still unable to carve a niche for itself.
CETEP (Centre for Technology Policy) is accredited and recognized by the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC), and it is not too far from the University of Lagos (one of Nigeria’s premier universities).
Presently, the Vice Chancellor of the institution is Professor Akin Aju. CETEP City University, Yaba offers degree courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Since, it is a school that has not yet hit its expected heights, students population in this school is nothing to write home about.
However, the school has well-constructed hostels which serve as accommodation for its students. The faculties in this school include the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, Faculty of Arts, Management and Social Sciences, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Education and Faculty of Law.
As at 2007 (its second year of establishment), CETEP City University had about 225 students undergoing various undergraduate courses. The school fees are pretty much affordable for students of undergraduate courses. It is not too much of a surprise that the school does not have much concerning infrastructure and amenities and it does not even have an out-rightly owned land of its own as the school management was recently embroiled in a land dispute.
Students seeking to earn admission to this university must compulsorily sit for and pass JAMB. They must also have at least five credits in O’ level with the required.
