About Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo
Adeyemi College of Education (ACE) was established in the year 1963 to produce qualified teachers well trained to teach students in secondary schools, teachers training colleges and to carry out experiments and research methods of teaching at all strata of learning in Nigeria. At inception on the 22nd day of May 1964, it started operating with 93 students made up of 69 men and 24 women. The college has since transformed into a first rated citadel of learning in Nigeria.
Located in the present day Ondo-City, which is the second largest town in Ondo State, Nigeria; The College enjoys affiliation with the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).The school was named after one of the first educationists in Ondo, Canon M. C. Adeyemi in recognition of his enormous contribution towards educational advancement in Ondo state.
The mission of the college is to create an enabling environment where teaching, learning, community activities and research can take place among students, staff and the entire public for the overall benefit of teachers in Nigeria and the world at large through a transparent, resourceful, firm and just leadership.
Presently, the college is made up of five (5) schools namely:
- Arts and Social Sciences,
- Vocational and Technical Education
There are a total of 28 academic departments, with various programmes and courses ranging from Arts, Social Sciences, Management science, Sciences, and Education.
Entry requirements to Adeyemi College of Education are the minimum accepted admission requirements approved by NCCE in addition to the various Departmental requirements. The various courses offered are fully accredited and leading to the award of National Certificate of Education (NCE).
