The Abia State College of Education(Technical), Arochukwu has concluded arrangement to start online teaching in line with the order of the State Governor , Governor Okezie Ikpeazu. 

As a result, the Provost of the College, Dr. Phillips Nto has directed all deans and heads of departments to collate all logistics required for the programme. 

In an article he sent out to members of the Academic Board, Dr Nto characterized the directive of the governor as a good idea aimed at keeping the students academically busy for the period that Covid-19 will last

The Provost directed all academic staff of the college to cooperate with their heads of department for briefing so as to make the exercise successful.

He stated that since the ASCETA is the center of the state government’s Education for Employment policy,  there was the need for it to standout not only in Science and Technology, but e-learning. 

Also, the provost has praised the Governor for the enterprising steps he has taken so far to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 in the state. 

Dr Nto mentioned it was instructive that even when the pandemic is yet to get to the state, the  governor has set up isolation centers and medical staffs to face it. 

According to him, Ikpeazu’s immediate lock-down of the state, closure of the borders as well as offering palliatives to the vulnerable have yielded results with Abia still remaining virus free. 

The provost called on the people of the state to support the Governor and his administration in their determined fight to protect the people from the dreaded virus.
