The management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan has ordered the immediate suspension of the Student Union Government (SUG) of the institution.
This was disclosed in a newsletter published by the school management, according to the newsletter, the Student Union Government of the Polytechnic are to seize and suspend all activities from the moment of the publication until further notice.
The newsletter which was signed by the spokesman of the institution, Mr Adewole Soladoye also stated that the suspension of the SUG became necessary as a result of the Union’s failure to adhere to the rules guiding its activities on campus

It was further revealed in the newsletter that the ongoing football competition in the institution has led to an uncontrolled disturbance on campus and this prompted the management of the institution to order an immediate suspension of the SUG.
The newsletter also urged students of the institution to stay focused and prepare for examination which will be starting shortly. It also contained warning to students to refrain from any activit that is against the rules of the institution as the school management will not hesitate to punish anyone found breaking rules.
