300 NYSC Members Have Cancelled Their Transfer Request From Anambra State.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has revealed that nothing less than 300 Corps members who applied for a relocation from the State have changed their mind and decided to cancel their relocation request.

The NYSC Coordinator of Anambra State, Mr Kehinde Aremu disclosed this while speaking at the Cultural Carnival held for the 2018 Batch B Stream Two Corps members at the Umunaya Temporary Orientation Camp, Oyi Council Area on Sunday.

Mr Aremu further explained that NYSC had received about 600 relocation application from the Corps members posted to Anambra State for reasons founded on the pre-existing fear in the mind of the corps members even before coming to camp.

The Anambra State NYSC coordinator added that after NYSC had received the requests, the scheme knew it needed to create a better flow of communication between corps members and the various community leaders and local government administrators in order to make the corps members more comfortable in the State

He also explained that the acculturation of the corps members was successful and effective as the corps members are now more relaxed in the State and have been sending in requests to cancel their transfer so as to be able to contribute their quota to the development of the communities where they would be posted to for their primary assignment.

He revealed that the decision of the corps members to withdraw their relocation request was in fact as a result of proper interaction which NYSC created between the corps members of the state and the various community leaders and local government administrators in the state.

Mr Aremu concluded by adding that the Anambra State corps members were able to study, understand and coexist with one another while displaying the rich and diverse culture of the various cultural groups across Nigeria within their period of time together
