Osun State University has resumed activities after being shut down for four days. It was gathered that the institution went on a short strike as a result of the lawlessness of some of the members of the non-academic staff union.

However, in a similar report, It was gathered that the school management only closed down the school because the Union has been protesting against the school management for sacking some Union leaders because they exposed some of the atrocities committed by the Vice Chancellor.

In a press statement released by the University, The Registrar and Secretary to Governing Council of the University, Mr Gafar Adebayo Shittu explained that the Senate of the University held a meeting to review the circumstances surrounding the closure of the University on Monday 28 May 2018 and approved the reopening of the university for academic activities on Monday 04 June 2018.

The Chairman of Non-Academic Staff Union, UNIOSUN branch, Comrade Isaiah Fayemi also explained to newsmen that the leaders of the staff Union had a meeting with the Director of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) and that the chairmen of three staff unions signed a document to maintain peace, law and order on the campus.
