The Maritime Academy Of Nigeria located in Oron, Akwa Ibom State has announced that application form for admission into the HND programme of the Institute for 2018/2019 academic session is currently on sale and can be purchased online. Below are the available HND programmes and their requirements, applicants are advised to read through carefully before applying.
Available Higher National Diploma Programmes
- Nautical Science (2 Years of 4 Semesters).
- Marine Engineering (2 Years of 4 Semesters).
- Maritime Transport & Business Management (2 Years of 4 Semesters).
Admission Requirements
HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) IN NAUTICAL SCIENCE/ MARINE ENGINEERING
- Applicants are required to have the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects which must include Mathematics, English Language, Physics, and any two of Geography, Technical Drawing and Chemistry, obtained at NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.
- Applicants are required to have a National Diploma in Nautical Science or Marine Engineering with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 2.50 (Lower Credit) from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or accredited Institutions listed with Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
- Applicants are expected to have completed a minimum of one-year Post-National Diploma (ND) Industrial Training or evidence of one year Cognate Work Experience in a relevant organization.
- Applicants with PASS at National Diploma from Maritime Academy of Nigeria and other accredited Institutions must have completed a minimum of two years Post-National Diploma (ND) Industrial Training or acquired a two year cognate Work Experience in a relevant organisation.
HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) IN MARITIME TRANSPORT & BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
- Applicants are required to have sat for the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or its equivalent with at least FIVE CREDIT passes in subjects which must include Mathematics, English Language, Economics, and any other two of Commerce, Government, Principle of Account and Business Management, obtained at NOT MORE THAN TWO SITTINGS.
- Applicants are required to have a National Diploma in Maritime Transport and Business Studies with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of not less than 2.50 (Lower Credit) from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria or accredited Institutions listed with Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
- Applicants are expected to have completed a minimum of one-year Post-ND Industrial Training or evidence of one year Cognate Work Experience in a relevant organization.
- Applicants with PASS at National Diploma level from Maritime Academy of Nigeria and other accredited Institutions must have completed a minimum of two years Post-ND Industrial Training or acquired a two year cognate Work Experience in a relevant organisation.
